Early Detection of Coffee Leaf Rust Caused by Hemileia vastatrix Using Multispectral Images

چکیده

Conventional methodology in the field for sampling of coffee leaf rust, caused by Hemileia vastatrix, has proven to be impractical. This paper proposes a method early detection this disease, which is most significant pathogen plants worldwide, using multispectral images acquired Mapir Survey3W camera and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). For purpose, 160 seedlings cultivar ‘Mundo Novo’ were inoculated with urediniospores H. vastatrix compared control (non-inoculated) determine favorable interval distinguishing healthy infected plants. The 320 placed on dark surface perform imaging flights. In vitro analyses physiological parameters 20 specimens then performed each condition (inoculated/non-inoculated) obtain hyperspectral curves, process was repeated three times at 15, 30, 45 days after inoculation (DAI). Based simulated discrepancy between red near-infrared (NIR) bands identified 15 DAI, showing greater absorption band spectral response NIR band. Thus, able distinguish infection asymptomatic stage (15 DAI) support vector machines (SVM) algorithm. Detection accuracy 80% Kappa index agreement moderate (0.6). low-cost technology can important tool monitoring rust and, consequently, more sustainable management pathogen, causing farmers make applications chemical fungicides only when necessary.

Transferability of SSR markers from related Uredinales species to the coffee rust Hemileia vastatrix.

The aim of the present research was to test the transferability of simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers developed in two Uredinales species to Hemileia vastatrix, coffee rust. The development of efficient techniques for the identification of H. vastatrix isolates is imperative, given the continuous development of new races. The transferability of 25 SSR markers developed in the related Uredinal...

Influence of Environmental Conditions and Genetic Background of Arabica Coffee (C. arabica L) on Leaf Rust (Hemileia vastatrix) Pathogenesis

Global warming is a major threat to agriculture worldwide. Between 2008 and 2013, some coffee producing countries in South and Central America suffered from severe epidemics of coffee leaf rust (CLR), resulting in high economic losses with social implications for coffee growers. The climatic events not only favored the development of the pathogen but also affected the physiological status of th...

Cryptosexuality and the Genetic Diversity Paradox in Coffee Rust, Hemileia vastatrix

BACKGROUND Despite the fact that coffee rust was first investigated scientifically more than a century ago, and that the disease is one of the major constraints to coffee production--constantly changing the socio-economic and historical landscape of the crop--critical aspects of the life cycle of the pathogen, Hemileia vastatrix, remain unclear. The asexual urediniospores are regarded as the on...

Overview of the functional virulent genome of the coffee leaf rust pathogen Hemileia vastatrix with an emphasis on early stages of infection

Hemileia vastatrix is the causal agent of coffee leaf rust, the most important disease of coffee Arabica. In this work, a 454-pyrosequencing transcriptome analysis of H. vastatrix germinating urediniospores (gU) and appressoria (Ap) was performed and compared to previously published in planta haustoria-rich (H) data. A total of 9234 transcripts were identified and annotated. Ca. 50% of these tr...

Evidence for hyperparasitism of coffee rust (Hemileia vastatrix) by the entomogenous fungus, Lecanicillium lecanii, through a complex ecological web

The entomogenous fungus, Lecanicillium lecanii is hyperparasitic on Hemileia vastatrix , the cause of coffee leaf rust in the laboratory, and has frequently been observed attacking it in the field. The existence of a complex ecological web involving the spatially clustered mutualism of an ant ( Azteca instabilis ) with a scale insect ( Coccus viridis ), where the scale insect was infected by L....
